Georgia was enjoying dancing to "Everlasting Love" from the We Love Katamari soundtrack - unfortunately we missed most of it, but there still plenty of joy to watch

Introducing YouTube.com
2006-12-24
In an effort to get more regular updates on my site, to bring you more enjoyable content (and to keep bandwidth usage in check), we have set up a YouTube.com channel that we can serve our little videos from, and we've put some photo sets on Flickr.com too.
You can view the videos from this site on the Diary page (we've posted some older videos there too), OR you can browse the channel directly on YouTube.com and you can even subscribe if you want to know when we add more content.
Most of the images at Flickr.com are restricted to Friends and Family, so send me an email if you don't have access and think you should.

Foo Fighters in Hyde Park
2006-06-17
We went to see Dave Grohl and the boys play in Hyde Park with our good buddy Tommy Quinn. It rocked, Dave rocked, the Foos rocked, the weather rocked, it was awesome! The warm-up bands were mostly pretty good too. Brian May and Roger Taylor from Queen came on for the encore and played Tie Your Mother Down - it was SO cool. We had a really great day

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
2005-12-27
At 9:45AM today it started snowing, quite heavily. Two days late for a White Christmas, but it was still lovely to see. Georgia thought it was pretty exciting (or maybe she thought it was exciting that we were excited).
Georgia's First Christmas

Happy Christmas everybody! Today was Gerogia's first Christmas and much to our delight she didn't think the wrapping paper was the most exciting thing. Some penguins and some plastic balls seem to be the favourites so far. [more...]
A long weekend with Mark
2005-10-14
Mark Bennett was in town for a week so we invited him to stay with us for the weekend (Friday through Monday). Greg took a couple of days off work so we had a lovely relaxed time catching up. Georgia didn't seem to mind too much that there was a strange man in the house. [more...]
Woohoo! I'm Back!
2005-09-20
Can you believe it? Nenny.co.uk has been crippled for 11 months due to a combination of a corrupt mysql installation and a procrastinating husband. Everything is all working fabulously on a shiny new server now so I will be updating all that I can (including past events).
Five Months Old
2005-07-27
I can hardly believe that Georgia is already five months old! It seems only a few short weeks since she arrived.
Introducing Georgia Ellen Jackson
2005-02-27
On Sunday 27th February 2005 10:29am GMT we had a 7lb 13oz baby girl at The Whittington Hospital. She was a bit of a surprise because she was 3 days early and we were pretty sure we were going to have a boy. We've called her Georgia Ellen Jackson. She has dark wavy hair and long fingers like her Daddy, and lovely long eyelashes like her Mummy. She was born on the same day as Wendy's older sister Kirsty-Sue. We were all pretty tired but elated when Georgia arrived. [more...]
11th Wedding Anniversary
2005-01-15
Today is our 11th Wedding Anniversary, hard to believe we've been married that long. Since it might be our last chance for a posh dinner out, with wee one imminently due, Greg donned his posh suit (a rare event) and took me out to a lovely restaurant (also a rare event). We had a lovely dinner and it was a very special time. Although I have to say, my stamina is not what it used to be. We were home by 10pm and that felt like a late night out!!!
We're getting there…
2004-12-01
All morning on the phone, and such a lot acheived. We now have power, gas, a phone-line, insurance, cleaners coming this afternoon, and the all important locksmith, to change the locks! How satisfying! More later, when I've returned from the migration north. It's quite a journey from our little possie here in the south!
The long and winding road…
2004-11-30
It's done, hallelujah! We finally have completed on our little home in London. There's so much to do now, and it's been such a rough journey to get to this point, we are frankly exhausted. But the excitement of actually owning our own place I'm sure will spur us on to get the rest done. [more...]
Hey, the bump just kicked me!
2004-11-29
Greg has been waiting to feel the baby kick for weeks now. He keeps trying and then babe stops kicking. No stamina!!! But tonight, as we sat exhausted and deflated from yet another attempt to complete on our house, wriggly started going to town and Greg finally got not just one good kick, but a whole soccer practice of kicks! Very happy daddy.
Welcome to London, Jani
2004-11-25
My little sister Jani arrived from the US to stay with us for the winter. It's so nice to see her again and to have her here during my pregnancy. I am due to see the midwife tomorrow, so Jani is going to come with me and hopefully will get to hear bubby's heartbeat.
Last day @ at Violet Hill
2004-11-04
Today was my final day at Violet Hill Studios. I had 4 of my regular clients booked which was just lovely. One of them gave me the cutest little green and white striped snuggle suit for the baby. I was so touched! But I have such a lovely job, and such wonderful clients. I'm very spoilt this way. [more...]
Midwife Visit II
2004-10-29
Today I had my second visit with the midwife. It went really well, no blood tests this time, just a check of the height of the fundus which is now well above my belly button and a blood pressure check, which was fine. My BP has dropped slightly since I've been pregnant which is following all the usual trends, so that's reassuring. I've always had a textbook BP 120/80 and it was 110/78 today, so I'm pretty happy. Grumble, Grumble or Not
2004-10-27
We are right in the middle of a very frustrating house purchase, which has both of us a little stressed, we just want to complete and get in there before I get too much bigger! I shouldn't really complain, life is good, my belly is exploding or feels like it anyway with all the summersaults this littley is doing! [more...]
Bubby's 20 Week Scan
2004-10-15
We had our 20 week baby scan today at the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. The scan went well and the ultrasonographer was happy that baby had all the necessary beating, moving parts. Although she was a little concerned that baby was a bit small with some measurements for 20 weeks. We didn't want to know the baby's gender before birth, so before you ask, "No, we don't know". The bump has landed…
2004-10-09
It's very funny, because in the space of about 3 days, this week my tummy has just suddenly popped out. So we've taken a picture to share with you.
We're due for our 20 week scan on Friday - we can hardly believe we're half way through! It's very exciting. We'll update you again after the scan, but thought you might like to share this photo of the 'blooming' belly.
Introducing Our Baby…
2004-08-18
I am so excited today as Greg and I got to see our baby for the first time! We had our 12 week ultrasound scan. This is supposed to check the Expected Delivery Date (EDD) and how many babies are in there! Much to my relief there is just one wee babe, although the papa was a little disappointed, he quite liked the idea of an instant family. I've scanned the pictures for interested family and friends to see. [more...]
Celebrity Spotting on Portobello Road
2004-08-10
I was minding my own business walking down Portobello Road today, then I looked up and saw Geri Halliwell riding along on her bicycle. She was so close I could have just reached my arm out and pushed her over. Of course I wouldn't do that though because I'm so nice and she looked so cute in person (even cuter than on the telly!)
Leaving on a jet plane
2004-08-05
We took Andrea out to Heathrow today as she is leaving Old Blighty to live in Australia. After living here in London for 7 years it must be a big thing to pack everything up and relocate to the other side of the planet. We left the airport about 8pm so she could go through to the deperture lounge. About 2 hours later we found out the plane was to be delayed by technical problems until after 12:30 Hopefully the rest of the flight was great.
TOTO @ Royal Albert Hall
2004-06-28
We went and saw Toto at the Royal Albert Hall and they were really, really good! It has to be said that Steve Lukather Rocks!! Not only is he a superb guitarist, he was awesome as vocalist and band fornt-man. They played all the old favourites, except Georgy-Porgy and Child's Anthem.
Richmond Park Picnic
2004-05-29
We had a lovely picnic in Richmond Park near Isabella Plantation to celebrate Greg's 35th birthday. I organised everything but I was worried about the weather for a while but it turned out to be nice and warm after all. Attendees were Louise, Andrea, Don & Wiggs, Lisa, Liz & Carlos, Craig & Karen & Alex, Mal & Nga and little Ethan (see image).
Afterwards most of us went to a nice little new Vietnamese restaurant in Roehampton.
Which LOTR character am I?
2004-04-10
Galadriel
If I were a character in The Lord of the Rings, I would be Galadriel, Elf, Queen of Lothlorien, wife of Celeborn and grandmother of Arwen.
Today I went to the London Zoo (ZSL) with Greg, Matthew and Seba.
Happy Birthday Donmon
2004-03-13
Greg and I went and had a few quiet drinks with Don today to celebrate his 31st birthday. Organised of course by his lovely wife Alina. There was a fabulous crowd there of family and friends. I think Don was actually quite moved by how many had turned up to celebrate his birthday either that or he'd had a few too many ;o)
We are lucky to have such a nice crowd of friends over here and it was great to catch up with everybody.
I'm on Fire!
2004-03-11
Work has been absolutely amazing lately. I've been so busy, that I've had to refer clients to other practitioners. Today I had a particularly fabulous day, I felt like I was really on fire! No seriously, I really did. I felt incredibly warm all of a sudden. Kinda scary actually I thought something was falling through the roof because I could hear this strange crackling noise above me. It was then that I saw reflected in the glass of one of the pictures in the room… that I actually was on fire - literally! I had accidentally set my hair on fire - no, really I did. Life Lesson: Never lean too close to a lit candle if you have long hair. I can also confirm for you that burnt hair really stinks!
Valentines Day 2004
2004-02-14
Every Valentines day for the past 10 years has come and gone without fanfare. Married to the man who vehemently insists that it's a commercial exercise and can't see an ounce of romance in the day, I don't get my hopes up for much. I pang just to hear the words 'Happy Valentines Day'.
So imagine my surprise when today, after being woken by those very words, my hubby not only rose to the occasion there, but he had another ace up his sleeve. In the most romantic Valentines day I've ever experienced, he serenaded me with a love song. Not just any love song either - my love song. He had actually written me a love song! Yes, I'm serious!
I've always wished I would inspire him in this way, being the talented songwriter that he is, and to my great surprise, I was serenaded by the most wonderfully mushy heartfelt love song I've ever heard. How will he ever top that!
Yay, I love big pressies!
2004-02-02
Today I received a delivery of the biggest Amazon box I've ever seen! It did not contain books, CDs or DVDs. It contained my new Anthony Worrell Thompson rice cooker and steamer. Which although rather domestic and boring, was actually very exciting to receive! Even better, is the fact that whilst I sit here typing this little blurb, the boy is in the kitchen making me dinner - yay!
The update on this several weeks later (3 April 2004) is that it has become our favourite cooking appliance. It's so easy to make yummy healthy rice dishes!
Snow Day 2004
2004-01-29
So this is snow day, I say that, because it only seems to snow here in London one day a year! Greg got to have all the great snow photo's last year, because I was still in my jim jams, so this year, it's me!
Out in all that gloriously pretty, toe numbingly cold snow!
We had a snow storm last night, and I almost didn't make it home from North London where I was working. The tubes were out, and the roads were frozen over. Black ice caused road closures, and that was just with 4mm of snow! How do they deal with 4 feet of snow in places like Hamburg?
A Private Investor…
2004-01-25
I'm pretty excited today since I had a meeting with an investor/businessman who wants to put some money into my clinic. I can't really say much at this stage but if things go well I will be very pleased indeed.
10th Wedding Anniversary
2004-01-15
Today is my 10th Wedding Anniversary. Wow, 10 years! I still think of us as just a couple of kids, newly weds really, so don't know where the past 10 years have gone. Everyone I've mentioned it to lately has commented that I can't have been married 10 years, or else I'd have been a child bride! To which I of course grin widely and pass across the bribe. Greg decided to take me away for a long weekend to celebrate, so on our way out of town we stopped for some supplies and had this photo taken in one of those passport photo booths. It was just for a laugh, but not a bad pic' we thought.
They want me on TV
2004-01-08
I got a call today from a TV company asking if I wanted to demonstrate LaStone on a new show they're making. I'm not sure if it's actually going to happen but it's pretty exciting.
Happy Birthday Mummy!
2004-01-08
It's my mummy's birthday today. I shouldn't give away how old she is, but she's the mother of seven children and a Grandma to 3, so it's definitely one to raise your glass to her for. :o)
'We are thinking of you today Mumma, and wishing you a truly happy day. I hope you and your twinnie are painting the town red together!'
LOTR III
2004-01-04
I went to "Lord Of The Rings - Return Of The King" today with Greg. The movie was pretty darn good but we were pretty disappointed with the Warner Brothers Cinema (Fulham). They had a huge queue for tickets and one little guy on the counter (but too many people collecting tickets), they had run out of salted popcorn, they left too many lights on during the film, and you could tell when they changed the film reels by the jumpy picture. I'll be surprised if they get any more of my money.
Happy New Year Everybody!
2003-12-31
This was Greg and I with a group of friends a few minutes into 2004. We had a great night starting with dinner and drinks at Don & Alina's. Then onto a funky pub nearby to see in the new year - British style. Where have the last four years gone? We came over to the UK just before Y2K, and now it's four years down the road. But I have a feeling 2004 is definitely going to be a good year.
Which Fantasy/SciFi Character Are You?
2003-12-30
Today I found this cool little quiz. I was surprised to find that my answers matched me with Princess Leia Organa Solo. I'm pretty pleased I'm not Chewbecca, I really don't know what that would say about me!
It's funny that this came up actually, because not so long ago, Greg went through an identity crisis. He really believed he was Princess Leia. You have no idea how long it took me to get his hair looped through those bagels everyday! Hehehe.
If you'd like to have a go at the quiz yourself, click on the picture of Princess Leia.
Post-Xmas Sales
2003-12-29
Greg and I braved the cold weather and stroppy shoppers today and ended up buying me a lovely new coat. It's so soft and warm that it's like putting on a big snuggly duvet. I'm really happy to have found it because I've been looking for a decent coat since I threw my old black wool one away at the end of last winter. I had had that coat for over 10 years, and it has lasted me well, but since I'd lost a bit of weight, it was starting to look like a sack, so was time to let it go. But the hunt for a new one, hadn't gone smoothly. So yay! We found this fabulous one today.
Christmas Day 2003 - We had a 'White' Christmas after all
2003-12-25
We woke up Christmas morning about 7am, had yummy freshly ground coffee, then set off to drop Andrea at Heathrow airport. The journey was pretty quick since we live in South London, it's less than a half hour drive to the airport. The only jam we had was at the airport!
It was off to Matti, Heidi and Seba's after that. Seba, our gorgeous wee godson turned two in September, so he was the perfect age to really enjoy Christmas. He's just such a cutie. He got it all! From putting out his home made stocking with Heidi the night before, to waking up and seeing that stocking full the next morning. He was gorgeous all day, delighting in each and every present he got. We had a yummy late breakfast once we got in from the airport, which saw us through until early afternoon, when we decided it was about time to start cooking Christmas lunch. Heidi is a fantastic chef. She's so wonderful to share days like this with, as she somehow creates these magnificent feasts with no fuss, out of seemingly nothing at all. So we had a heart warming, happy Christmas. It may not have snowed, which we thought it might do, but ours was definitely a 'White' Christmas.
